چکیده
Since the dawn of modern optics and electromagnetics, optical prism is one most fascinating elements for refracting light. Exploiting its frequency dispersive behavior, a able to refract different frequencies in directions, realizing polychromatic light rainbows. Recently, thanks their engineerable electromagnetic response, metamaterials have been exploited achieving novel refractive scattering processes, going beyond classical effects. In this Letter, we report on rainbow-like process taking place at interface boundary-induced temporal metamaterial realized by instantaneously opening boundary conditions parallel plate waveguide. Changing abruptly conductivity two metallic plates, demonstrate that an equivalent between media realized, monochromatic wave propagating into waveguide gets scattered rainbow free space. We derive relationships mode raising terms amplitude as function elevation angle with respect axis. apply underlying physics control imposing principal direction design. Full-wave numerical simulations are performed computing verifying design guidelines controlled scattering.

Nonreflecting Boundary Conditions for Time-Dependent Scattering
of the ordinary differential equation which occurs in the boundary condition. An exact nonreflecting boundary condition was derived previously for use with the time dependent wave equation in three Finally, we shall solve a sequence of scattering problems space dimensions. it is well established that the seismic ground response of surface topographies may differ from those of free field motion during earthquakes. complex nature of seismic wave scattering by topographical structures can only be solved accurately and economically using advanced numerical methods under realistic conditions. among the numerical methods, the boundary element is a powerful numerical te...
متن کاملCharge transfer and surface scattering at Cu-C60 planar interfaces.
Thin-film planar structures of Cu and C60 have been sequentially deposited onto sapphire substrates in high vacuum and studied using in situ resistivity measurements during deposition together with ex situ atomic force microscopy characterization of surface topography. Two different regimes of behavior are identified. In the first of these, the thin-film limit in which the Cu is thin enough to ...
متن کاملInfluence of Inelastic Scattering at Metal-Dielectric Interfaces
Thermal boundary conductance is becoming increasingly important in microelectronic device design and thermal management. Although there has been much success in predicting and modeling thermal boundary conductance at low temperatures, the current models applied at temperatures more common in device operation are not adequate due to our current limited understanding of phonon transport channels....
متن کاملAngle dependence of Andreev scattering at semiconductor–superconductor interfaces
We study the angle dependence of the Andreev scattering at a semiconductor– superconductor interface, generalizing the one-dimensional theory of Blonder, Tinkham and Klapwijk. An increase of the momentum parallel to the interface leads to suppression of the probability of Andreev reflection and increase of the probability of normal reflection. We show that in the presence of a Fermi velocity mi...
